Weekend Whirlwind Part I:

This weekend was jam packed with activities. We had our usual Saturday morning -- soccer, gymnastics x 2, ice hockey, soccer again --- afterward, the two older kids and I decided to try out our local farm's corn maze. We had never tried before so thought it would be fun. In theory, it is a great time! However, they told us that the average time to go through the maze is 1 1/2 hours, about 3 minutes and 17 SECONDS into the maze, Hannah decides that she is done. Lucky for her, in about 10 minutes, we found our way out...except that we had found our way back to where we started from. I certainly hadn't paid all that money to spend 10 minutes, so we went back in. After another 40 minutes of listening to Hannah beg to go home, and about that same amount of time of me contemplating the idea of just leaving her in there to fend for herself (i'm kidding, really, I am :))we asked for help to find our way out.....at least Noah can say we finished even if we did cheat.

Anyway, as soon as we found our way out, Hannah was a perfect angel...but of course that meant she wanted something....she spied a face painting booth! The kids each got something small and then it was off to find our family pumpkin. Each year we buy a relatively large pumpkin to carve together. But the rule is that they have to agree on the pumpkin to bring home with us. The two of them must have spent a good half an hour debating the choices...this one was too small, this one too bumpy, the next too flat....

They did finally decide on one...22 lbs of perfection. Next weekend we'll carve but again, we have to agree on the face design so we're just hoping to finish before Halloween is over!

That sounds like so much fun! I wish we had a corn maze around here... Those pictures are beautiful!
